Kissing and Greeting Customs
In Turkey it is customary to kiss three times: approach the left cheek of the person, switch to the right, and then back to the left. If you are saying hello to someone of the opposite sex, or a stranger, it is customary to shake hands. Members of the opposite sex will kiss you, but only after you have gotten to know each other.
Sometimes you will see a custom that looks like more of a head touch. This is customary between men of certain cultural or religious groups.
